Locket of her dreams!

When I was nine, my father gave me a lovely gold locket which I still treasure. My husband and I hoped to turn this gift into a family tradition by giving a locket to our grand daughter on her 10th birthday this summer. I don't exaggerate when I tell you we searched over 100 lockets. But, when we found this sterling silver butterfly heart locket our hopes were exceeded in every way! The locket is a lovely heart shape, with delicate butterflies floating up the right side - the perfect amount to not overwhelm but just enhance and modernize the front. As my dad had done for me, we had her first name and the date of this coming birthday inscribe in flowing script on the back. It was done expertly. But the WOW! factor we'd never even heard of is on both inside halves of the locket. Rather than having to reduce two pictures, attempt to trim them correctly and insert - Pictures On Gold engraved in Color! two pictures for us. We choose one of us (her grandparents) and another of my grand daughter and I. Unfamiliar with this process, we paid an additional $10 to see "proofs" of these photos before they were actually engraves. The cropping was perfection. The pictures were so detailed! This locket is AMAZING, and I know our grand daughter will treasure it for a lifetime! Talk about making memories together? We can't wait to present it to her on July 19! Starting a tradition for our granddaughter

My father gave me a locket as a child, and I still have it. Now my husband and I are doing the same for our granddaughter's tenth birthday. We looked at an enormous number before choosing this silver heart. The little butterflies add interest without taking over the design, and her name and birthday look lovely on the back. The inside is what really surprised us: two detailed color images, already part of the locket, with none of the cutting and fitting of tiny photographs I remembered. Paying to check the proofs helped, and the cropping needed no changes. One picture is of her grandparents; the other is of her and me. We haven't given it to her yet, but I can't wait. This feels like the beginning of another family keepsake.

Pleased, with a couple of cautions

Check the faces in the picture you choose. Two people in our group of four looked a bit pale in the finished color image. Otherwise I have a lovely locket in the size I wanted. It's a considerable expense, so not an impulse buy, but I don't regret mine.
